The Tri-County North Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Tri-Village Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Tri-County North had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Twin Valley South on Thursday. Tri-County North never let Twin Valley South get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Tri-County North hasn't had any issues with Twin Valley South recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Kasidi Daugherty, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Twin Valley South off the board. Daugherty has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Cherry, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Madison Bondurant was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Tri-County North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Tri-Village strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Newton Local 15-3. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 12 runs or more this season.
Tri-Village also got a great performance from Elizabeth Poling as she struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. With that strong performance, Poling is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Caley McCarroll was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kash Mead, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Tri-Village's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-County North, their record now sits at 4-5.
Both Tri-County North and Tri-Village just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Tri-Village struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tri-County North couldn't quite finish off Tri-Village in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
