Basketball Recap: City College Find Success

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but City College ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over the Park School Bruins. That's more bragging rights for the Black Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Zirkin, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Emma Zirkin, who had 14 points.

City College has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. Park School's loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

City College has already played their next match (against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Park School, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-33 defeat against Concordia Prep on the 13th.
