Softball Recap: Shamokin Area Indians vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes        
        
		
            
 Shamokin Area scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Friday. Everything went their way against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes as the Shamokin Area Indians made off with  a  16-4 win. The result was nothing new for Shamokin Area, who have now won three games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
  EMMA KURTZ made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits. KURTZ has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. KURTZ was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  KENNEDY PETROVICH, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while going 5-for-5. PETROVICH is crushing it when it comes to  hits: she's   hit at least three every time she's  taken the field this season.  AVA HUGHES was another key contributor,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 The  victory (which was Shamokin Area's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. As for Schuylkill Haven,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-4.
 Shamokin Area will head out on the road to  challenge  Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Schuylkill Haven, they will  square off against Jim Thorpe at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Schuylkill Haven is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
