Volleyball Game Preview: Riverside Rangers vs. Ysleta Indians

Riverside is 0-10 against Ysleta since September of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:35 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Riverside took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over San Elizario. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Riverside never let San Elizario on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Ysleta got the win against Mountain View last Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-16.

Riverside better focus on containing Crystal Espinoza and Raelene Lopez as the pair were huge in Ysleta's win. Espinoza had eight digs and seven assists, while Lopez had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Lopez has posted over her last seven matchups.

Riverside's record is now 7-12. As for Ysleta, their record now sits at 24-8.

Riverside suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ysleta in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Rangers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
