Soccer Game Preview: Lawson vs. Fairview

The Lawson Lightning will head out to square off against the Fairview Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lawson is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Sycamore on Monday. The Lightning fell just short of the War Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Fairview was forced to settle for a draw. They and Creek Wood finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw last Friday.

Fairview's goal came courtesy of Noah Simmons, who's now up to two this season.

Lawson's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. With that draw, Fairview's record moves to 2-3-1.

Lawson took their victory against Fairview when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lightning since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
