Lee-Scott Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Horseshoe Bend Generals. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Railey Langford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, McKenzie Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Mezick, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Lee-Scott Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
