Softball Recap: Mohawk Area Wins Going Away Against Quaker Valley

Mohawk Area's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Quaker Valley Quakers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Reagan Magno made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mohawk Area got a massive performance out of Addy Moskal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Moskal is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Makenna Stewart was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Mohawk Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mohawk Area's record now sits at 5-2. As for Quaker Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Mohawk Area and Quaker Valley will both be playing Hopewell the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Quakers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
