            Softball Preview: Havelock Rams vs. D.H. Conley Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Havelock is 1-6 against D.H. Conley since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Havelock Rams will be playing at home against the D.H. Conley Vikings  at 6:00  p.m.
Havelock is headed into Thursday's   contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game  dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost  7-1 to Croatan.
 Havelock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Andria Krupey, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple and one  run.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask D.H. Conley). They put the hurt on South Central with a sharp  15-6 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-run performance the  matchup before.
 Kendall Howard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news, D.H. Conley got a  massive  performance out of  Harper Bradley, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in five of her six plate appearances. Bradley also put up two  RBI, which were her first of the season.  Ava Gaddis was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her six plate appearances.
 D.H. Conley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in four consecutive  games.
 The  victory  got D.H. Conley back to even at 3-3. As for Havelock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
