Basketball Recap: Legacy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mead + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). They came out on top against the Mead Mavericks by a score of 60-49 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Lightning, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Legacy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaedon Ward led the charge by shooting 43% from the field on his way to 15 points. Ward's big performance that afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Devan Kirchhevel was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Mead lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brennar Stapp, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Hunter, who had 17 points.

Legacy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mead, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Legacy has already played their next matchup, a 57-42 loss against Highlands Ranch on the 13th. As for Mead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-41 defeat against D'Evelyn on the 13th.
