Poinciana's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Haines City Hornets with a sharp 36-13 victory. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Poinciana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chance Frazier, who rushed for 71 yards and one TD, and also picked up 47 receiving yards and one score. Kamari Lewis was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Poinciana's run defense was locked in: Haines City could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. While four picked up at least seven total tackles, Frazier stood above the rest. He rushed for 71 yards and one score, and also picked up 47 receiving yards and one TD. Poinciana didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.7.

Poinciana's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Jamel George was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 himself.

Haines City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dylan Rosario, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown.

With the win, Poinciana broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Haines City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poinciana will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lake Region at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. As for Haines City, they will take on Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Hornets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
