Volleyball Recap: Granada Comes Up Short

Granada lost against Amador Valley back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Matadors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons. While the Matadors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dons 25-19 in the first set.

Granada started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Granada has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Amador Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Granada will challenge rival California at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amador Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Livermore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
