Basketball Game Preview: Grand Meadow Superlarks vs. LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals

Grand Meadow and LeRoy-Ostrander are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Grand Meadow Superlarks will take on the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with 18 losses in a row dating back to last season, Grand Meadow turned things around against Lyle/Pacelli on Tuesday. They managed a 62-58 victory over the Athletics.

Meanwhile, LeRoy-Ostrander was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-66 heartbreaker at the hands of Schaeffer Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Grand Meadow's win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Grand Meadow came up short against LeRoy-Ostrander when the teams last played back in February, falling 71-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of LeRoy-Ostrander's Camden Hungerholt, who went 12 of 20 on his way to 33 points along with seven boards and three steals.
