Basketball Game Preview: Brunswick Academy Vikings vs. Ridgecroft Rams

The Brunswick Academy Vikings will challenge the Ridgecroft Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brunswick Academy will be strutting in after a win while Ridgecroft will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Brunswick Academy earned a 51-40 victory over Mecklenburg County.

Meanwhile, Ridgecroft was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 63-59 to Rock Church.

Brunswick Academy will need to focus on slowing down Jaiveon Lyles-Askew, one of several Ridgecroft players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 16 points. Carter Lassiter was another key player, putting up eight points.

Brunswick Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ridgecroft, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Brunswick Academy came up short against Ridgecroft in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 56-51. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
