Volleyball Game Preview: Thomas Worthington CARDINALS vs. Lincoln Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Thomas Worthington CARDINALS challenge Lincoln Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Thomas Worthington got the win against Olentangy Orange by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the CARDINALS in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won three in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Thomas Worthington took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomas Worthington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliver Marker, who had four aces and three digs.

Thomas Worthington couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 41.8% of their attack attempts. The last time their hitting percentage was this high was back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Lincoln entered their tilt with Worthington Kilbourne on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wolves.

Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-28, 25-21, 25-22, 25-21.

Thomas Worthington's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Thomas Worthington came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Thomas Worthington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincoln turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
