Basketball Recap: Derrion Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Horizon Science Academy Mckinley Park over Morgan Park Academy + How To Watch

After flying high against Waldorf on Wednesday, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Morgan Park Academy Warriors by a score of 64-61 on Friday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 57-50.

Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrion Williams, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Whitehorn, who earned 14 points.

Morgan Park Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ivan Fullilove led the charge by going 8-for-20 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Fullilove is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Tyee Mason was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park fell to 5-1. As for Morgan Park Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
