Softball Game Preview: Springfield Wildcats vs. Mechanicsburg Indians

The Springfield Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mechanicsburg Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mechanicsburg took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Springfield faced off against Triad on Thursday. Springfield put the hurt on Triad with a sharp 15-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Leeauna Rardon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rardon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Jalynee Thomas was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Savanna Vela, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 10-3 to Granville on Monday.

Bella Batkiewicz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
