Baseball Recap: St. Stephens Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Stephens's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Alexander Central Cougars on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Stephens has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Alexander Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Looking ahead, St. Stephens will venture away from home to take on West Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Alexander Central, they will take on Hickory in a tournament on Wednesday. The Red Tornadoes will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
