Baseball Recap: St. Stephens Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bunker Hill on Monday, St. Stephens came back down to earth. The Indians took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexander Central Cougars on Tuesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

St. Stephens has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Alexander Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

St. Stephens has already played their next contest, a 10-9 victory against Newton-Conover on the 23rd. As for Alexander Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-4 win against Hickory on the 23rd.
