Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Triumphs

Calvary Christian Academy won against Church Farm last Friday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cougars didn't even let the Renaissance Academy Knights on the board, marking the Cougars' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The Cougars have beaten the Knights the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Caleb Leader was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Calvary Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise. Leader was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Jesse Egan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Adam Lohwasser was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Calvary Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Renaissance Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Calvary Christian Academy will face off against MAST Community Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Renaissance Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on the 21st.
