Gary Payton may have shed some light on where LeBron James will play next season.

In an interview with BlackSportsOnline.com, Payton indicated that LeBron James Jr. is headed to Southern California powerhouse Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.). Does that mean King James would be nearby playing for the Lakers?

Stay tuned.

James Jr. is a member of the Class of 2023 and would be an eighth-grader at the private school next year.

Already well-known for educating celebrity kids like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Ireland Baldwin and Willow Smith, Sierra Canyon rose to national prominence in basketball under head coach Tyrone Nichols in 2013-14.

The program welcomed in highly-touted middle school phenom Cody Riley, now a freshman at UCLA, and an outstanding supporting cast. Prized NBA prospect Marvin Bagley III joined the roster a couple of years later and Sierra Canyon rose to No. 1 in the national rankings during the 2016-17 season.

The Trailblazers are 135-20 since the 2013-14 season and won California's Open Division state title in 2017-18.

Sierra Canyon's basketball team already has a celebrity touch to it. Sons of former NBA players Kenyon Martin Jr. and Scotty Pippen Jr. both contributed to the state title run this season and are expected to return in the fall.
