Preview: Hamilton Huskies vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts
The Hamilton Huskies will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. Hamilton will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Hamilton put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season last Friday. They blew past Perry, posting a 63-34 victory at home. 63 seems to be a good number for Hamilton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Callie Hinder, who scored 12 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reanna Farrington, who scored six points along with six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mica Mountain beat Rio Rico 55-50 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Mica Mountain needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior match.
Mica Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayley Sutton, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Ceraya Grace-Bandy was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Mica Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hamilton have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mica Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.6 rebounds per game.
