North Fremont came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Ririe Bulldogs 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Lenz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, North Fremont let Oakley Hathaway and Grace Heiner run wild. Hathaway went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Heiner went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave Heiner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of London Marsden, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
North Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ririe only posted an OBP of .250.
North Fremont pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Ririe, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.
