Volleyball Recap: Douglas Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Douglas had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the St. Thomas More Cavaliers by a score of 3-2. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Douglas wouldn't go down easily and took St. Thomas More into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25.

Looking ahead, Douglas will head out on the road to challenge Rapid City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Thomas More, they will host Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
