Basketball Preview: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Delaware Christian Eagles

Genoa Christian Academy and the Delaware Christian Eagles will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Genoa Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Genoa Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Mansfield Christian by a score of 61-52.

Leah Kinley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with eight steals and two blocks. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Avery Norman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Meanwhile, Delaware Christian had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 49-24 margin over Northside Christian. Delaware Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Genoa Christian Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Delaware Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Genoa Christian Academy beat the Eagles 42-29 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Genoa Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
