Softball Recap: General Mclane Falls to Northwestern in First Game of Season

General McLane unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 13-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

General McLane saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gwenna Gast, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Gast has posted since back in April of 2024.

While General McLane had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
