Basketball Recap: Shelley Comes Up Short

Shelley lost against Hillcrest two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Shelley Russets were beaten by the Hillcrest Knights 76-38. While losing is never fun, the Russets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Knights are ranked 16th).

Titan Larsen was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-17 from beyond the arc on his way to 44 points and five boards for Hillcrest. Thanks to that strong game, Larsen now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Sweetwood, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Shelley's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Hillcrest, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Shelley has already played their next game, a 57-54 victory against Madison on the 14th. As for Hillcrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-60 defeat against Rigby on the 14th.
