Football Recap: Midland Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Midland was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. The game between the Chemics and the Portage Northern Huskies didn't end well, with the Chemics falling 24-10. If the Chemics were looking for revenge after losing 37-7 to the Huskies when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Portage Northern to victory were Caden Huntington and Keniel Ortiz. Huntington rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown, while Ortiz rushed for 138 yards.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Portage Northern, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Midland and Portage Northern will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Chemics will square off against rival Bay City Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Portage Northern is set to challenge their familiar foe Mattawan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
