Baseball Recap: Westbrook Gets the Win

Westbrook took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against O'Donnell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Eagles 4-3 on Tuesday.

Landon Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Salazar, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits Salazar has posted since back in April of 2025.

Westbrook's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for O'Donnell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Westbrook and O'Donnell will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on Ira at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for O'Donnell, their break will end when they face Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th.
