Soccer Recap: West Takes a Loss

If West was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of North last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Vikings came up short against the South Spartans on Thursday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1034th, while the Spartans are ranked 451st).

West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-3. As for South, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West will square off against Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South has already played their next match (against East Bakersfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
