Baseball Recap: Atlantic Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Atlantic proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Mainland Buccaneers 6-5. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jayden Lombardi was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josiah Perez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Atlantic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Mainland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic will challenge University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so University's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Mainland will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Orlando Christian Prep at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th.
