Basketball Recap: Taeshawn Armstrong's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Paloma Valley over Tri-City Christian

On Saturday, the Paloma Valley Wildcats came up short against the Tri-City Christian Eagles and fell 51-41. The Wildcats were down 46-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Paloma Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taeshawn Armstrong, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 11 points. Christopher Helms was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-City Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garry Dillard III, who posted two points in addition to ten assists and six rebounds. Those ten assists gave Dillard III a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Williams, who earned nine points.

Paloma Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Tri-City Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Paloma Valley has already played their next game, a 74-64 defeat against Hemet on the 21st. As for Tri-City Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-60 win against California Lutheran on the 20th.
