Basketball Recap: Belle Plaine Takes a Loss

Belle Plaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Marshall Tigers 83-51. While losing is never fun, Belle Plaine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Marshall is ranked 15th).

Belle Plaine's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Marshall, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Belle Plaine Tigers face off against the Fairmont Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waseca at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st.
