Basketball Game Preview: Stanwood Spartans vs. Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks

The Stanwood Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Stanwood and six for Marysville-Pilchuck.

Stanwood came up short against Marysville Getchell on Friday, falling 58-38. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Marysville Getchell are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Marysville-Pilchuck came up short against Snohomish on Friday and fell 57-48.

Marysville-Pilchuck's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Stanwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Everything came up roses for Stanwood against Marysville-Pilchuck in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured an 83-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stanwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
