Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Triumphs

Paradise Valley came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Thunderbird, but Isabella Illingworth wouldn't allow it. The Thunderbird Titans snuck past the Paradise Valley Trojans with a 42-38 win on Friday thanks in part to Illingworth, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. Illingworth is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Paradise Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Neha Patel and Olivia Kollie. Patel posted 13 points and three steals, while Kollie had eight points and six rebounds. Patel continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Antonae Meeker, who earned seven points and three steals.

The victory got Thunderbird back to even at 7-7. As for Paradise Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Thunderbird wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-41 defeat against Moon Valley on the 7th. As for Paradise Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-13 win against Shadow Mountain on the 8th.
