Baseball Recap: Oakridge's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Oakridge dropped their record down to 12-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 7-4 to the Lowell Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in April.

Maxwell Maher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

As for Lowell, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Lowell's side, Adam Davis made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave Davis a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting three hits from his four at bats.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zak Hermansen, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Harris, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Oakridge will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Douglas/Elkton at 4:30 p.m. As for Lowell, they will head out on the road to take on Camas Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
