Basketball Recap: Heath Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bonham over North Lamar

Bonham lost against North Lamar back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bonham Warriors lost to the North Lamar Panthers at home by a 64-50 margin. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bonham's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heath Brown, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in November of 2024. Dj Stewart was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight rebounds.

Bonham's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10. As for North Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Bonham will head out to square off against Sulphur Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Bonham surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Lamar, they will host Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lamar is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
