Basketball Recap: Greenville's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

While Greenville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They strolled past the Covenant Christian Chargers with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 45-30. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Chargers are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenville pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Covenant Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Greenville will square off against Coopersville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covenant Christian, they will take on Big Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Rapids will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Covenant Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
