Volleyball Game Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates + How To Watch

The Westmont Warriors will take on the Piedmont Hills Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Westmont didn't have quite enough to beat Evergreen Valley and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Westmont wouldn't go down easily and took Evergreen Valley into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 21-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills came up short against Leigh on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Leigh scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Defeat or not, Piedmont Hills got some senior leadership from Eden Ng and Katelyn Young. Ng had 20 digs and two aces, while Young had seven digs and three aces. Zimo Zhou also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Piedmont Hills' loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Westmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-16.
