Baseball Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Oak Hills Highlanders
The Hamilton Big Blue will head out on the road to square off against the Oak Hills Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Hamilton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
After a 10-9 finish the last time they played, Hamilton and Lakota West decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Hamilton came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakota West on Wednesday and snuck past 3-1.
Cournell Bennett mccoy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Bennett mccoy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Bennett mccoy wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Gipson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a double.
Meanwhile, even though Lakota East scored an imposing ten runs on Wednesday, Oak Hills still came out on top. Oak Hills had just enough and edged Lakota East out 11-10. The victory was just what Oak Hills needed coming off of a 7-1 defeat in their prior match.
Hamilton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oak Hills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Hamilton came up short against Oak Hills when the teams last played back in May of 2022, falling 4-0. Can Hamilton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
