Basketball Recap: Mayde Creek Takes a Loss

Mayde Creek lost against Seven Lakes back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mayde Creek Rams took a blow against the Seven Lakes Spartans, falling 102-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (61), the Rams still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Mayde Creek lost, don't look at Christian Gibson. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. Gibson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Daryus Tasby was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Mayde Creek and nudges their season record down to 14-13. As for Seven Lakes, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 28-5.
