Basketball Recap: Marshall Gets the Win

Marshall proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 42) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arcola Purple Riders, sneaking past 52-50. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 45-41 win the Purple Riders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Arcola, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall has already played their next match (against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Arcola will venture away from home to challenge Argenta-Oreana at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Arcola is facing Argenta-Oreana at the right time seeing as Argenta-Oreana is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
