On Thursday, the St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions faced Connelly School of the Holy Child in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Andrew's Episcopal slipped by Connelly School of the Holy Child 52-51. The win was just what St. Andrew's Episcopal needed coming off of a 71-41 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Andrew's Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna beth Tsai-turton, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsai-turton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Thompson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
St. Andrew's Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's Episcopal will take on Sidwell Friends at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Potomac School at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Potomac School is ranked 11th in Virginia, while Connelly School of the Holy Child is ranked 15th in Maryland).
