Preview: Eldon Mustangs vs. Lebanon Yellowjackets
The Eldon Mustangs are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Lebanon Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Eldon is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lebanon in Missouri (Eldon is ranked 120th, while Lebanon is ranked 257th).
Last Monday, Eldon was the victim of a tough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Fatima. Eldon has struggled against Fatima recently, as their contest on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Sydney Halderman put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Lebanon had to settle for a 48-45 defeat against Capital City on Monday. Lebanon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eldon's win lifted them to 3-3 while Fatima's loss dropped them down to 4-2.
Eldon was able to grind out a solid victory over Lebanon in their previous meeting back in January, winning 64-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lebanon's Heaven Shockley, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Eldon to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
