Volleyball Recap: Columbian Tornadoes vs. Norwalk Truckers
Columbian was the 3-1 winner over Norwalk when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Columbian Tornadoes fell just short of the Norwalk Truckers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
Columbian wouldn't go down easily and took Norwalk into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13.
Despite the loss, Columbian still got an impressive performance from Emma Daugherty, who had 21 digs.
Mac Wineman was a one-man wrecking crew for Norwalk as she had 33 digs. Wineman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Columbian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Norwalk, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Columbian will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Calvert at 7:00 p.m. Calvert is coming into the game with six straight wins at home, so Columbian will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Norwalk, they will square off against Perkins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
