Softball Game Preview: Lake Creek Lions vs. A&M Consolidated Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lake Creek Lions challenge A&M Consolidated Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Creek comes in on 23 and A&M Consolidated on three.

Lake Creek's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Huntsville. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A&M Consolidated). They blew past Rudder 22-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Lake Creek's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for A&M Consolidated, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Lake Creek took their victory against A&M Consolidated in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
