Basketball Recap: Trinity Has No Trouble Against Cumberland Academy

Trinity's tournament run continued when they took on Cumberland Academy on Friday. The Tigers took down the Knights 60-42. That looming 60-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden DeBose, who went 10-for-20 en route to 25 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. DeBose has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 15 points, but 1-3 otherwise. Darryn Bass was another key player, shooting 67% from the field on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and five assists.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Trinity was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trinity's record now sits at 6-3. As for Cumberland Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Trinity will take on Kennard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity will be up against Kennard's rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cumberland Academy, they will challenge Mt. Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
