Football Recap: Emery Comes Up Short

Emery played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Beaver Beavers, falling 49-7. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Davin Orton looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 138 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (153.3).

Emery's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beaver, the win was the ninth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Emery will look to defend their home field on Friday against Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. The Spartans are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Beaver, they will venture away from home to challenge Duchesne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
