Edwin O. Smith faced Enfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Not much got past Olivia Lipps, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Enfield off the board. Lipps has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rachael Morales was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Edwin O. Smith's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Enfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edwin O. Smith will face off against East Hartford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.55 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Enfield, they will square off against Glastonbury at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
