Softball Game Preview: Caverna Colonels vs. Washington County Commanders

The Caverna Colonels will take on the Washington County Commanders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Caverna's offense. They came up short against Christian Educational Consortium on Thursday, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Colonels have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Washington County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Nelson County. The shutout was out of character for the Commanders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Washington County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addi Abell, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Caverna, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Caverna beat Washington County 7-4 in their previous meeting on Friday. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Commanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
