The home team had come away the winner the last six times Newburgh Free Academy and Kingston had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Goldbacks fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 59-57 on Thursday. On the bright side, the 57- point performance marked the Goldbacks' highest-scoring contest to date.

Newburgh Free Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Kingston, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Newburgh Free Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Pine Bush at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kingston, they will square off against Our Lady of Lourdes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
